A Warm Welcome is guaranteed to all our guests
Only one and a half miles from Haddon Hall, three miles from Chatsworth, and centrally located within the Peak District National Park, Bakewell presents the ideal location for a short break in the Peaks. We are also within easy driving distance of other National Trust and English Heritage Stately Homes (Hardwick Hall, Bolsover Castle, Keddleston, Calke Abbey etc.) and other attractions.
Within Bakewell, Bourne House enjoys the perfect position, overlooking the park with its village cricket, tennis courts and quiet areas next to the beautiful and tranquil river Wye. We are only a 200 metre riverside stroll to the town’s good selection of restaurants, pubs, shops and cafes. From the bedroom windows, hot-air balloons can often be seen preparing and taking off for early morning and evening flights.
We are therefore confident we can provide you with the perfect base from which to enjoy walking, pottering and sightseeing throughout this glorious area. Lots of books, maps and other information on nearby walks, stately homes and local attractions are all available for your use.
All our rooms are large and airy. There are two double rooms, one twin-bedded room and one single. The doubles and twin all have en-suite shower rooms while the single has its own exclusive toilet and shower room directly across the corridor.
We offer a wide choice of breakfasts which include cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurts etc. and freshly-cooked full English breakfast. These are served at large separate tables in our spacious dining room overlooking the park.
Bourne House has its own private car park, and a separate guests’ entrance to give easy and flexible access to your room.
